The foremost Chairmanship aspirant for Ojodu Local Council Development Area of Lagos State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaja Kafayat Funmilayo Layeni has greeted Muslims all over Nigeria, particularly those in Lagos State and Ojodu LCDA on the occasion of the Eid-l-Fitr celebration.
In her Sallah message released on Thursday, 13 May, 2021, Alhaja Layeni popularly called KFL by her admirers, associates and supporters, called on Nigerians irrespective of their religion to continue to promote love and peace among themselves.
“The Ramadan period was for sober reflection. A period for sharing of love and promotion of peace. Now that Ramadan has ended, we should not relent in continuing the good deeds we were doing during Ramadan,” the Ojodu LCDA chairmanship hopeful said.
According to her, the current challenges facing the country require joint efforts of all to surmount.
“Some of the ways we can tackle our challenges are by being united, promoting peace and sharing love among ourselves. These are the teachings of Ramadan and I want us to continue to do these,” she said.
KFL urged Muslims and Nigerians in general that while celebrating the Sallah, they should do it moderation and should avoid actions and utterances that can lead to chaos, unrest and violence.
“On behalf of my family, friends and relatives, I wish you all a fulfilling and rewarding Sallah celebration. Going through such spiritual journey for 30 days, we should thank Almighty Allah for His mercy and protection. Almighty deserves all the praises and we deserve all the celebration but we should do it moderately,” she said.
