NLO side Messiah FC have unveiled Olayinka Tunde popularly known as ‘Escobar’ as their new coach ahead of the new season.
The Lagos-based club, who resumed training last week following a short break after participating in the Nationwide League Division One last season.
Tunde Olayinka is making a return to the club after a brief stint in 2015.
The former AS Racine, COD United and Stationary Stores assistant coach has been tasked with improving the fortunes of the club.
Olayinka expressed his delight after he was unveiled at the club’s training ground in Lagos.
“I am delighted to be back in the team after a long time away and I’m glad that the management believe in me and together with the players we want to make them happy and achieve our objectives”.
“We are bringing a lot to the team in other to take the team to the next level”.
Escobar urged the fans to expect an improved performance from the team and the management has line up tune-up games against top quality sides.
Messiah FC Team Manager, Deji Beecroft revealed that the decision to appoint Tunde Olayinka was an easy one because he is an highly-rated coach and one of the most sought-after coaches in Nigerian football.
“Escobar is a good coach and he was recommended by the players as a result of the impressive job he did in the team first time he was at the club.”
“We want to change the pattern of the team and he is the right person to take us forward we want to challenge for the competitions we are playing and also bring in young players to move the club forward,” Beecroft said.
Messiah FC are preparing for the Lagos State FA Cup and Escobar will be aiming to impress in the competition.
