Popular wellness expert and owner of Venivici Health Club and Spa, Arinola Adeniyi is dead.
The sad news of her passing was announced by the Spa’s management today, Monday, 7 June, 2021 in a statement.
”Heaven’s Gain…..With heavy hearts and glory to God, we announce the passing on to glory of our CEO and Founder, Ms Arinola Adeniyi.Please remember us in your prayers at this time,” the statement reads.
Until her death, the 60 years old banker turned wellness expert brought panache and professionalism into the wellness industry.
Arinola’s belief in Venivici being a sanctuary of wellness for all was borne out of a firm belief that the treasure trove of quintessential health lies in the human endowments of the mind, body and soul.
“Enriching the mind, cultivating the body and nourishing the soul ensure we all enjoy a healthy work-life balance. Little lifestyle behavioral changes culminate in huge dividends on our health and well-being,” she had always said.
With a BSc (Hons) in Economics from University of Ife and an MBA from University of Lagos, Arinola embarked on a banking career which spanned 17 years. As an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, she was Secretary to the Association of Professional Women Bankers for several years and was 2nd Vice Chairman up till 2002. She left banking as a Deputy General Manager to pursue her vision, Venivici Health Club and Urban Spa full time in 2002.
She turned her passion into her profession.
The late Arinola was involved in putting together the beauty syllabus, framework and successful implementation of Lagos State Technical and Vocational Board’s (LASTVEB) Graduate Vocational Employability Skill Training Programme.
Thus, supporting the state government’s initiative of skills acquisition and reducing unemployment in the state. The Lagos State School Initiative Award in 2013 lends credence to this. Venivici Academy is a LASTVEB Certified Training Center. She is very passionate about passing on, not only excellence to the industry but integrity, values and ethics; she is therefore very involved in training at the Academy.
Arinola writes in various lifestyle publications and magazines on Spa and Wellness issues.
She was involved in several charities and has several plaques in appreciation of her contribution to widows, orphans, less privileged including Saidia for Children of Africa, Spinal Cord Injuries Association of Nigeria. Venivici for Christ has also in the past been used as an evangelism vehicle.
She served on the Board of Covenant University from 2005-2010. She also served as Secretary of Covenant University Endowment Fund.
