Members of the Lagos State chapter of the Photojournalists Association of Nigeria (PJAN) have penciled down three renowned journalists to speak at its forth coming Lecture on Saturday, 21 August, 2021.
A statements jointly signed by the Chairman of the Association and the Planning Committee, Mr Kola Olasupo and Mr Ademola Akinlabi respectfully, statd that the speakers were carefully selected with regards to their years of experience in the field of Journalism.
The first Guest Speaker, Mr. Dayo Adedayo is a British trained Documentary Photographer, a cultural anrhropologist and author of many historical photo books, among them “Nigeria 2.0”. Adedayo who has travelled far and wide in the space of 17 years will be bringing his wealth of experience as a documentary photographer to limelight at the lecture.
The second Guest Speaker, Mr. Lekan Otufodunrin, is a well experienced media career development specialist.
He is bringing his 30 years of media experience to bear as he speaks at the lecture.
Otufodunrin is presently the Executive Director, Media Career Development Network, a Nigeria foremost media mentoring and coaching organization.
The third speaker penciled down for the lecture is the Director of International Press Centre (IPC), a Lagos based Nigeria media resource centre person, Mr. Lanre Arogundade, a former Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Lagos Council and an online Editor-in-Chief.
Arogundade will be bringing his wealth of experience in the areas of media advocacy, media research, media training and editing of media resource books to bear for participants that will be attending the event.
The three reknowned Journalists will be speaking on the topic of the day titled: “Photojournalism: What the future portend for Practitioners”.
Other guests expected at the event are the Chairman, Lagos NUJ Council, Mr Adeleye Ajayi and his exco members; the Chairman of the state chapter of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Mrs. Comfort Okonkwo; and the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso; and Engr Lai Omotola, Group Managing Director, CFL Group of Companies.
Other event planned to mark the 2021 World Photography Day is a group walk from Ogba bus stop to the venue of the Lecture located at International Press Centre (IPC) No 11, Dideolu Estate, Ogba, Lagos. A Photo exhibition and a group street photo paparazzi.
