Inner Wheel Club, a charity cum philanthropist organization, paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos State, Otunba Kehinde Almoroof Oloyede and his Vice, Mrs. Modupe Badmus-Aregbe.
The delegation was led by the District Chairman, Mrs Adefunke Olubunmi Shinaba, District Chairman, 912 for Year 2021/2022.
Inner Wheel Club is a charity organization that focuses majorly on women course. They target mainly widows, orphans, youths and girls and they operate currently in 104 countries. In Nigeria, they operate 6 districts.
Mrs Olubunmi Shinaba informed journalists that the aim of their visit was to felicitate with the Chairman on his election victory and to intimate him on the operation of the club as well as intimate him of the free medical checkups they are doing in the local government.
“We are here today to felicitate with the Chairman and his Vice on their election victory. We wish them the very best as they engage in the herculean task of transforming the local government. The local government chairman has started well and his approach to leadership is perfect. He is an humble person that is highly hospitable,” the District Chairman noted.
She continued that, “Inner Wheel Club is an organization that is non-political and non-religious. We are a charitable organization fighting for the course of the women folks. Today, we are conducting free medical checkup both for local government staff and residents. The checks include free breast and cervical cancer test, PB, sugar level, to mention but a few.”
While responding, Otunba appreciated the delegation for finding time to fight for the course of humanity, particularly those of women. He noted that their efforts will certainly be rewarded, not by man but by God. He promised to have a good working relationship that will benefit the good people of With the club.
A beneficiary of the programme, Mrs Charity was very happy for benefiting from the program. She noted that such program will encourage people to know their health status and know what to do at the early stage even though they might not have money.
Mr. Olayinka R. Oluyemo, a staff of the local government that also benefited, lauded Inner Wheel Club for their thoughtfulness and urged other organizations to follow suit in conducting such humane programs.
On the entourage of the District Chairman was Mrs Zanaib Ikhelo, who also donated an ultra-scan machine to the local government when she was the District Chairman in 2008/2009. Others include: Mrs Abiola Aberuagba, Chartered President of Oregun Metro; PDC Sumbo Osinbajo and Mrs Busola Odedina.
