The National Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s supporters’ group, the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) has disclosed that on Saturday, 23 October, 2021 the group will officially launch the Abuja campaign office for Tinubu ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
According to the supporters’ group, the inaugurated office located on Lake Chad Street in the highbrow Maitama District of Abuja is where the operations leading to his campaign will take place and it is expected to be a beehive of activities.
Although Tinubu has not formally declared his intention to run for president in 2023, his supporters, many of whom are elected government officials, have begun mobilising support for him nationwide.
Confirming the development, the lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Mr James Faleke, said all supporters were happy about the return of Tinubu who had been in London for the last three months recuperating from knee surgery.
Faleke, who is the coordinator for all the groups, had stated last week that Tinubu remained the only person that could pilot the affairs of the country, adding that his achievement as Lagos State Governor was a testament to his competence.
Speaking to the Punch, Faleke said, “Save the date. It is October 23.”
“You can be sure that if Tinubu did great in Lagos State as governor and leader, he will do more for the country,’’ he stressed.
The news comes a few days after Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State launched the South-West Agenda 2023 campaign codenamed SWAGA.
