The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Finance, Honourable James Abiodun Faleke, has described the death of chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and member of the Governor Advisory Committee (GAC), Professor Tunde Samuel, as devastating.
Speaking through a press statement from his Media Office released on Thursday, 17 February, 2022, Faleke described the late Samuel as a dependable, loyal and committed politician not only to the party but also to the ideals and ideas of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu political family.
“He was a dependable ally not only for the party but also for our leader and mentor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He remains steadfast and loyal until his last breath.
“We will surely miss his wisdom, knowledge and experience but we can’t really question Almighty God who has deemed it right to take him away from us at this particular point when we really his wealth of experience.
“However despite our sadness at his passage, we’re equally happy that he lived a fulfilled life of achievements: a great father to his children, a caring husband to his wife, a great teacher to his students, a mentor to many, a loyal party man, a committed Tinubuist, and an active member of GAC,” Faleke, representative of Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives said.
The former Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area and ex-Chairman of Conference 57 commiserated with the deceased family, the National Leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; the state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; the state chapter of APC and the GAC.
“I pray that Almighty God gives all of us the fortitude to bear the great loss,” he said.
