An aspirant for the House of Representatives in Ojo Federal Constituency in Lagos State, Hon. Michael Olanrewaju Ogunyemi (HLO), who was a two-term member of the Lagos State House of Assembly and immediate past Secretary of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State has assured the constituents of enhancing the progress and development of Ojo Federal Constituency if given the opportunity to represent the Constituency in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly, in next general election.
HLO, who spoke at an event to mark his 59th birthday and expression of interest to run for the House of Representatives seat in Iyana-Ishashi, Tuesday, 22 February, 2022, said:”I believe that the time has come and the time is now for Ojo Federal Constituency to enjoy quality representation which by God’s grace I can offer. The time is now for Ojo Federal Constituency not to be only seen in the Green Chambers, but heard.”
HLO, who was ably assisted by his wife, Mrs Oluwayemisi Ogunyemi, to cut the birthday cake, added that, “The time has come for the people of the constituency to feel and enjoy the dividends of democracy from the centre. Together we can achieve the quest and lift the bar of representation to an enviable height.”
Ogunyemi called on the large gathering to support the aspiration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President come 2023. In his words; “Asiwaju’s political sagacity, strategic mastery of national and global issues eminently qualifies him as the best hand that Nigeria needs at this time”.
Speakers at the event which was attended by a mammoth crowd of party faithfuls, family members, friends and associates of the celebrant, described HLO as an outstanding achiever, a high quality aspirant with spiralling acceptance by the constituents.
Not a few people described HLO as very qualified, most experienced, very competent, most prepared and the one with the best convincing human capital and infrastructure development plans.
They were convinced that HLO’s sterling educational, professional, teaching, party administration, legislative and executive experiences and track records of performance will make him a good representative in Abuja.

There were rich cultural displays by the Agasha Awori Group, Ndigbo Oghene Group, South-South Cultural Group and Arewa Cultural Group, as well as the HLO Babes Group, whose scintillating music HLO and his beautiful wife danced to at the podium.
A significant aspect of the event was the donation of N25,000.00 each to five petty traders who were randomly selected across the Ojo Federal Constituency to support them in their business.
Those who benefitted were: Mummy Nifemi, a fish seller at Anibaba area; Mrs. Adeniji, a ponmo and vegetable seller at Anibaba; Mrs Lydia, akara seller at Iyana School; Mrs. Alimoh, a pepper seller at Olaiya bus-stop and Mrs.Adebayo, a groundnut and garden egg seller.
Other notable faces were those of Mr Segun Ege and Mr Elvis Eniowo; both aspirants for House of Assembly, Ojo Constituency.
Mr Olaniyi Olawole, an aspirant for House of Representatives in Ojo was also present.
Barrister Obiageli Onu (Ndigbo), Hajiya Fauziyya (Arewa) and Mrs Stella Omudu (South-south) spoke glowingly about HLO’s sterling qualities and gave testimonies of his past achievements.
Birthday gifts were presented to the celebrant amid the cutting of the cake with the toast given by Hon. Hakeem Masha, a former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
