Several journalists are currently stranded at the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the national officers have failed to hand them accreditation cards ahead of the party’s presidential primaries beginning in a few hours.
Our correspondent learnt that journalists from different media houses, who had been assigned by their superiors to cover the all important event, are presently seating outside the secretariat waiting to get accreditation while the election process has begun in earnest.
One of the journalists told our correspondent on phone that the national officer assigned to take charge of the process, Edegbe Odemwingie, who is also a Director of Publicity in the office of the party chairman, has not been picking calls since morning.
Recall that the National Chairman of the APC, Adamu also embarrassed journalist on Monday when he sent them out of the secretariat after waiting for several hours to get their accreditation card.
Some of the journalists lamented that the trend had become synonymous with APC events as they have to go through hard times to secure accreditation.
As at the time of filing this report, some of the journalists were seen leaving the national secretariat out of frustration
