National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has won the presidential primary of the party, reports thegazellenews.com
As the counting of ballots is ongoing at the Eagle Square, Tinubu scored1,271 delegate votes out of the 2,229 total delegate votes cast at the primary.
Former Governor of Rivers, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi is ranking a distant second with 316 votes while the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN is a distant third with 235 votes.
Tinubu’s performance is more remarkable going by the fact that 93 delegates from Akwa Ibom could not vote due to a court order.
The former Lagos Governor scored more than 60 percent of the total votes cast at the event.
