The biggest female football tournament is Africa is currently going on in Morocco and the teams are getting ready for the crucial quarter-final games which will determine the African teams that will represent the continent at the World Cup.
The Super Falcons who are gunning for their tenth title came second in group C and will face fierce rivals, Cameroon. One of the slogans of the Falcons is “We Count on You”, and the parents of Toni and Nicole Payne have taken it upon themselves to be physically present to watch the crucial match.
Toni and Nicole were born in the United States of America to Nigerian parents. They started their international careers with youths of the United States Women National Team (USWNT), but both opted to play for Nigeria in 2021.
The Media Officer of the Super Falcons, Oluchi Tobechukwu, shared photos of Mr. and Mrs. Leke Payne and said that the ladies are thrilled to have their parents live in Morocco. Who wouldn’t be?
The ladies must have felt special about being the first set of siblings to play together for Nigeria at a WAFCON tournament, it will even be more special for the two of them to play before their fans.
