For those who didn’t know, the trio of Chief Mrs. Ireti Asemota, Yetunde Onileere and Hajia Abah Folawiyo are best of friends and are never tired of each other’s company.
The Nigeria’s social circuit is incomplete without the three.
However, Chief Mrs Asemota ‘s unavoidable absence didn’t not go unnoticed at her bestie’s 80th birthday that drew dignitaries last weekend.
Asemota who also clocked 80 on July 15th didn’t left her friend in the lurch. The woman of substance is mourning the death of her sweet heart, the late Chief Sunny Asemota of the famed Sunny Motors who passed on few months ago.
Hajia Folawiyo, mother of Segun Awolowo Jnr, former Executive Director of Nigerian Export Promotion Council clocked 80 on 23rd July 2022 and a turquoise themed event planned by her son, Segun Awolowo, who was supported by his wife, Bola, was held in her honour to celebrate the milestone.
The crème de la creme in the Lagos social circle and beyond turned up at the Folawiyo family home on Queens Drive, Ikoyi, Lagos, to celebrate with the society matriarch and style icon.
Guests were ushered into the grand hall within the Folawiyo premises to a beautifully decorated hall done by Funke Bucknor of Zapphire Events after the prayers held at the family mosque, also located in the premises.
The woman of style stepped out in a gorgeous white sequin lace kaftan to welcome the early arrivals, one of whom was the former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
It was a gathering of many who have been in her life at different stages. Her long- time friends: Princess Florence Ita Giwa, Princess Yetunde Onileere, Chief Mrs Opral Benson, Mrs Folorunso Alakija, Chief(Mrs) Nike Akande, Mrs Maiden Ibru, Beere Derin Osoba, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Hajia Bola Shagaya, and Enitan Akerele were among several other top dignitaries present.
Also present were the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo Olu; accompanied by his wife, Ibijoke; former Ogun Governor, Aremo Segun Osoba; Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun; and former Delta State Governor, James Ibori.
Within the high society, both Chief Mrs Asemota and her late billionaire husband were well-loved as he attended most shindigs in the company of his heartthrob Ireti. The Edo State-born auto-mogul shocked many when he bid this sinful world farewell on 19th May while asleep at the age of 87.
