Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State and House of Representatives aspirant of the party for Alimoso Federal Constituency, Prince Idris Balogun has denied media reports linking him with defection from the party to the Boot Party.
Prince Balogun, popularly called Oluomo Kafata, also denied any link with Olawale Oluwo, a former Commissioner in the administration of Akinwunmi Ambode, who reportedly led the defectors in the media reports.
Reacting to the reports published by National Daily newspaper and some online newspapers, Prince Balogun said it was lie from the pit of hell, saying he has no intention of leaving a party he is not only a foundation member but also a member who has been committing his financial resources into promoting the ideals and programmes of the party.
“I’m a committed Progressive and I don’t have any intention of leaving this party. It’s therefore so disheartening for me to read this ungodly report,” he said
Prince Balogun stated that although he and his followers were not happy with the way the primary elections of the party in Alimoso Federal Constituency was handled, he remains a party man to the core believing and having confidence in the leadership of the party to resolve the matter amicably.
He regretted that there were many complains about the manner the primary elections were conducted in the state particularly in Alimoso Federal Constituency, urging party leaders to wade in and settle the matter amicably so that there won’t be a repeat of the defeat suffered by the party in Osun in Lagos.
He advised journalists to verify and investigate news before going to publishing so that the people are not misled.
“It is pertinent to reaffirm that APC is my party that we have all collectively built in sweat and sweetness, comfort and discomfort and it is certain that whether lose, draw or win, I belong to the Progressive broom family and remain committed to the party’s victory at all times.
“As an apostle of justice in the temple of peace and orderliness, I am hopeful and resolute that my stolen mandate will be returned as I am the only voice representing Alimosho of this generation and the unborn for the emancipation of a new Alimosho of new development and growth for the masses. Our party, APC should let there be light in Alimosho, because I am the light,” Prince Balogun said.
