The All Progressives Congress (APC), Presidential Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) Directorate of South-West Support Groups, has inducted a coalition of no fewer than 1265 support groups in Lagos State.
During the well-attended event, the Assistant Secretary, Lagos State Directorate of Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Hon. Olaniyi Isreal Fadane, acknowledged all leaders of the party, including the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu, the Director General of the campaign council and Governor of Plateau, Simon Lalong, and the Head of the State Campaign Council, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, among several others.
He expressed delight with the inauguration of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council PCC South-west Support Groups to support collective aspirantion and yearning for a good and better Nigeria, which is tagged ‘Renewed Hope’.
According to him the mission of the group is to support, encourage and promote visionary, patriotic, credible and competent leadership with manifest capacity and a sense of urgency, capable of making a difference in quality services delivery and in good governance.
He said the inauguration of the support groups is a bold and decisive step to alter the narratives and secure the future the nation.
“I wish to commend our stakeholders for their vision and political will in this direction. As a single structure, they must work together with common objectives, aspirations and goals,” he said.
According to the Support groups, their coming together was mainly informed by the need for a formidable and popular grassroots support base for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his quest to become the next President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come May 29, 2023, through strategic contacts and engagements with major and critical stakeholders.
The groups anchored their support on the kind of leadership Tinubu provided when he served as Governor of Lagos State, which set up massive, remarkable pillars that have remained as watersheds and the lasting cornerstone of the state’s phenomenal socio-economic foundation.
Fadare added: “Our principal enjoys the popular and massive support of most Nigerians, cutting across all divides. We must protect this enormous goodwill jealously. We must, therefore, be organized, responsible and law-abiding at all times to maintain this enviable tempo of support and solidarity.
“As a support group, our activities and programmes must be in conformity with the rules of engagement as allowed by law, while our commitment and disposition to peaceful support, mobilization and harmonious co-existence are total.”
He promised that harmonized guidelines of various pro-Tinubu groups would be released to the state’s steering committees immediately in order to streamline their operations.
