Officers of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a man during robbery operation at Ojota Bridge, reports thegazellenews.com.
According to a report posted on the Facebook page of the Squad, the suspect, Wasiu Ajepe, was arrested at about 11.45 pm on Wednesday, 7 December, 2022, while in company of two others now at large, robbing the driver and motor boy of a broken down fully loaded petrol tanker at Ojota Bridge inward Ketu.
An RRS patrol team caught the suspect in the act with a machete; while Ajepe was apprehended by the team, his gang members, who were also armed, escaped.
Ajepe, a resident of 21, Taiwo Street, off China Town, Ogudu has confessed to be the leader of a clique operating around China Town, MKO Garden, Ojota Bridge and Motorways at night and dawn.
Efforts are on to arrest his two other gang members.
