The spiritual and moral benefits of caring for orphans and the less privileged are enormous as it attracts the blessings of God, more so as it is a teaching of the Holy Qur’an.
Senator Kashim Shettima, Vice Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), made this call, saying orphans across the country must, therefore, be cared for by the privileged in society so they can also have equal opportunities.
Shettima who was Chairman of the occasion, represented his principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who was the Chief Launcher at the fundraising ceremony for the construction of Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass Orphanage Complex, Skills Acquisition Centre and National Congress of the Fityanul Islam of Nigeria, which held at the National University Commission Hall, Abuja.
The APC VP candidate said aside the human importance, it was far more beneficial faith-wise to assist orphans and the less privileged than acquiring wealth and materialistic things.
He said even though he is a son of an Islamic scholar, he got prepared to face the demands of life due to the power of modern education which he was opportune to receive.
The event was well attended with Asiwaju Tinubu, Chief Launcher represented by Senator Shettima. While Tinubu donated N25 million to the project, Kashim Shettima donated N10 million.
