The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council Secretary RT. Hon James Abiodun Faleke has called on members of the ruling party to unite for its victory in the 2023 general elections.
He also announced the release of N500 million for the people of the state to celebrate this year's Christmas and New Year. Hon. Faleke, who made the donation when he met with Kogi APC Stakeholders and the party's candidates for Senate, House of Representatives, state House of Assembly at separate fora this month, noted that, based on his grassroots network mechanism, he is optimistic and capable of influencing the victory of the party candidates in the 2023 election. He admonished them to galvanize votes for his principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and ensure that all the candidates of APC win their respective election. Faleke emphasized that party candidates must up their games by closing rank with party stakeholders as well as cementing their relationship to enable leaders to build confidence in them. While noting that the party candidates need financial support to succeed in their elections, he promised to release fund to support their campaign.
The APC PCC Secretary also said he is for the people and those who meant well for Kogi State. Faleke, who hinted that he belongs to Kogi State political family, further admonished them to open up to accommodate every genuine Kogite who loves his principal (Tinubu), stressing that, this will add value to the project .
He advised everyone to concentrate on the 2023 presidential and other elections for Tinubu and other party candidates in the state and not to be distracted by the governorship election in Kogi State in November 2023, as it will be a ploy to derail them. Faleke said there should be unity of purpose and and direction In Kogi APC and to actualize it; he recommended for the setting up of Truth and Genuine Reconciliations Committee. Responding, some of the party candidates and stakeholders at the meeting all expressed their appreciations to Hon Faleke for not abandoning them since Audu departure and for always oiling them and keeping Audu/Faleke political structure alive through financial supports, employments for their supporters and children, empowerment which has become yearly. A party chieftain, Comrade Isa Daniel noted that Hon. Faleke has been reaching out to the people of the state since 2015 adding that, his impact on the people of Kogi State is under reported. Party leaders, candidates and stakeholders used the medium to sincerely thank Hon. Faleke, describing the meeting as timely and impactful, saying "he has lighten up their political spirit for 2023". They also thanked him for remembering Kogi flood victims with support of N50 million, adding that, he should also convey their appreciation to his boss, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and family for hundred of millions of Naira presented by the family to the Kogi flood victims.
It would be recalled that after Faleke donated N50 million to Kogi flood victims, a week later, Tinubu's wife, Pastor Mrs Remi Tinubu followed suit and gave support worth over N100 million to the victims of the flood.
Tinubu also generously gave over N100million and about last week, his son, Seyi came to Kogi State and gave undisclosed amount running into millions. Faleke has set up a disbursement committee that will reach out to the people of the state this week for their Christmas and New Year package. The meeting was well attended and had in attendance: APC PCC Secretary, Hon James Abiodun Faleke; APC Candidate for Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Smart Adeyemi; and various leaders and stakeholders in the party in the state.
