The Kaduna State command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has disclosed that over 4,000 officers and men of the corps would be deployed for the 2023 general elections in the state.
The Commandant of NSCDC in the state, CC Idris Yahaya Adah, made this disclosure on Wednesday, 22 February, 2023, in Kaduna, the state capital
Adah said that the arrangements have been concluded for security coverage during the election, assuring residents of the state to come out enmass to exercise their franchise as citizens of the country.
According to him, the massive deployment of personnel in Kaduna was to ensure the safety of lives and property, just as he assured residents of security coverage.
Adah also said he had already constituted a monitoring team that would go round all the 23 local government areas of the state to ensure a hitch free and credible election devoid of any electoral malpractices.
He added that there would be deployment of the Anti-vandal Squad in the state to all critical national assets and infrastructure in Kaduna to protect against vandalism by criminal elements before, during and after the elections.
Adah explained that state trained undercover personnel would work effectively with other security agencies in the state to maintain surveillance and provide intelligence reports.
He called on residents of the state to always provide useful information about criminal elements and/or electoral fraudsters before, during and after elections, as the corps would not hesitate to deal with such criminal elements
