Five Governorship Candidates of different registered political parties in Lagos State have withdrawn from the race and endorse the state Governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Dr Kadir Obafemi Hamzat, reports thegazellenews.com.
Also, a coalition of nine registered parties under the auspices of the Alliance of Registered Political Parties (ARPP), declared support for the state Governor and his Deputy.
Addressing a press conference in Lagos on Monday, 13 March, 2023, the leadership of the ARPP and rhe seven Governorship Candidates stated that they were impressed with the performance of the state Governor since his assumption of office in 2019.
“He (Sanwo-Olu) has delivered on his social contract with the good people of Lagos through the famed THEMES mantra,” they said.
Speaking further, they said, “It’s worthy of note that he literarily saved the country from the scourge of Covid-19 through proactive measures that underscored his responsive and responsible attributes”.
According to them, Lagos State is better entrusted in the hands of experienced and patriotic leaders noting that, “a vote for Sanwo-Olu will indeed be an endorsement for continuity and greater development”.
The nine parties under ARPP umbrella are: APP, ADP, APM, NRM, YPP, ZLP, SDP and PRP.
The seven Governorship Candidates are: Ajayi Adebayo, YPP; Chief (Mrs) Adeyemi Abiola, APP; Adenipebi Mode Adekunle, ZLP; Kupoluyi Funmi, APM; and Ishola Bamidele, ADP.
