Residents of Lagos have been commended for coming out enmasse to renew the mandate of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to continue with the giant strides he is taking in the Infrastructure renewal across the state.
They are also assured of unprecedented collaboration between the Federal and Lagos State Governments to fast track socio-economic development and improved well-being of the people.
Former Lagos lawmaker and Chairman of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), Hon Wahab Alawiye-King stated this in a message to congratulate Governor Sanwoolu; his running mate, Dr Kadir Obafemi Hamzat; party leaders and other elected members of the party in the just concluded 2023 General Elections in the state.
Alawiye-King equally commended the Wife of the President-elect, Senator Oluremi Tinubu; Wife of the Vice President-elect, Nana Shettima; First Lady of Lagos State, Dr (Mrs) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu; and that of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Oluremi Hamzat; for their unalloyed support for the party’s Flag-bearers.
The SUBEB boss noted that the victory of Governor Sanwo-Olu at the Saturday, 18 March, 2023 election clearly showed that the residents responded to the appeal by the party leaders against the outcome of the Saturday, 25 February, 2023 election.
He urged residents of the state to remain calm, be law abiding and continue with their legitimate activities without fear of molestation from any quarters.
The SUBEB boss is of the view that the current trying times the people are facing is receiving the attention of the President-elect and would be attended to when he takes the mantle of leadership from May 29, 2023.
Sixteen political parties fielded candidates for the March 18th Governorship Election in the state in which the APC candidate emerged victorious with 762, 134 votes; the Labour Party candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour; came a distant second with 312, 329 votes while the PDP candidate, Olajide Adediran was third with 62, 449 votes.
