A former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Wahab Alawiye-King has congratulated the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the occasion of his 71st birthday saying that he is prepared to serve the people and restore hope to the country.
In a press statement released on his behalf to celebrate the birthday of the President-elect, Hon Alawiye-King said Nigerians freely gave their mandate to him because of absolute confidence they have on him that he can and will deliver on his electoral promises.
Thegazellenews.com recalled that the President-elect had directed that in marking his 71st birthday today, Wednesday, 29 March, 2023, Nigerians should pray for the nation’s leaders and peaceful coexistence in the country against the annual rituals of organising a Colloquium to mark the day.
Hon Alawiye-King, who is also the Chairman of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB) and also Dean of SUBEB Chairmen in Nigeria, was of the view that it is only in the atmosphere of peace that the nation can achieve desired development adding that Nigerians should continue to embark on legal activities without harassment or intimidation.
He also urged law abiding citizens to avoid playing into the hands of those who do not wish the nation a seamless transition of power on May 29.
He however charged the President-elect to accord priority to insecurity, unemployment, ease of doing business, improved health care, renewal of infrastructure and boosting of power supply when he assumes office.
Eighteen political parties fielded candidates for the Saturday, 25 February, 2023, Presidential Election in which INEC declared APC Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu winner while Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came second and Peter Obi of the Labour Party was third.
