The Gombe State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged the zonal and national secretariats to endorse the sack of Senators Muhammadu Danjuma Goje and Bulus Amos by their constituencies for alleged anti-party activities.
The state APC made the call on Monday, 8 May, 2023, while reaffirming the expulsion of the two senators and a member of the House of Representatives by their wards and local governments.
Senators Goje, Bulus and Yunusa Ahmed Abubakar, a serving member of the House of Representatives were accused of sponsoring candidates of opposition parties at the just concluded elections.
They said their actions affected the party fortune as many candidates lost their political bids.
The state APC on Monday, 8 May, 2023, informed the media that it adopted “the decision of Kashere (Goje’s) ward of Akko local government to expel Senator Goje is in line with the provisions of our party constitution and they have followed due process, therefore we endorse and reaffirm the expulsion.
“The state executive committee endorse the decision of Bambam Ward of Balanga Local Government for the expulsion of Senator Bulus Amos and has also endorsed the decision of Lubo/Difa/Kinafa Ward of Yamaltu Deba Local Government to expel Hon. Yunusa Ahmed Abubakar,” the Publicity Secretary, Ambassador Moses Kiari read.
He subsequently urged the APC zonal and national levels “to approve the decision of the party from ward, local government and state executive committees which is in line with the provisions of Article 21, section A, subsection ii, iii, vi and vii of the APC constitution”.
The party however passed vote-of-confidence on Governor Muhammadu Yahaya for what it called “exemplary leadership qualities.”
