A former Governor missed his flight because he was waiting for aides who are no longer with him to remind him of boarding time, reports thegazellenews.com
Former Governor of Gombe State, Ibrahim Dankwambo narrated this on Sunday, 14 May, 2023, during a farewell dinner organised for outgoing Governors which took place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
Dankwambo was one of the speakers at the event meant to prepare the outgoing Governors for life after office.
According to him, the unnamed ex-Governor was sitting down at the departure lounge drinking coffee, waiting to catch a flight to Benin City.
However, unknown to him, his flight had already taken off.
“The former Governor was waiting as usual for his aides to come and remind him of the boarding time oblivious of the fact that those aides are no more with him the moment his tenure as Governor expired,” the former Gombe Governor said.
The narration, though, drew a thunderous laughter from members of the audience, it is a grim reminder of the transient nature of power.
