The Secretary of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Alhaji Mutiu Are has described the honour being bestowed on Senator-elect for Lagos Central Senatorial District, Rt Hon Wasiu Eshilokun-Sanni; and his wife, Bilikisu Olamide by the Oba of Lagos, His Royal Majesty Rilwan Akiolu, as well deserved.
Are’s submission was contained in the congratulatory message to the Eshilokun-Sannis on their being honoured the chieftaincy titles of Okanlomo and Yeye Okanlomo of Lagos today, Saturday, 20 May, 2023.
“This is a well deserved honour for my dear friend, Senator-elect Eshilokun-Sanni and his amiable wife, Bilikisu Olamide. They deserve it. They’ve contributed in no small measure to the development and growth of Lagos Island in particular and Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole.
“Senator-elect Eshilokun-Sanni is a distinguished lawmaker who has excelled at the state and moving to the national level. He had done well as an administrator at the grassroots level having been Chairman of Lagos Island Local Government. He’s a man that has been tested who has delivered. He and his wife deserve this honour,” Are said.
He also expressed appreciation to Oba Akiolu for finding the Eshilokun-Sannis worthy of the honour, noting that the refered Monarch is noted for giving honour to whom it’s due.
