Five Nigerian artistes: Burna Boy, Wizkid, Tems, Ayra Starr and Asake have been nominated for the 2023 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards.
Burna Boy, who has already won a Grammy, was nominated in the Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, Video Director of the Year, Viewer’s Choice, and Best International Act categories.
Wizkid and Tems who are also Grammy winners, was nominated in Best Collaboration, Tems bagged two other nominations in Best Female R&B/Pop Artiste and Viewers Choice categories.
Both Asake and Ayra Starr earned one nomination each. While Asake will contend in the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act category, Ayra Starr will compete with Burna Boy in the best international act category.
