The Executive Chairman of Oriade Local Council Development Area, Lagos, Southwest, Nigeria,Hon Ramotalai Akinlola-Hassan has been commended by the people of Ikaare town, a riverine community in the council area, for the provision of an ultra modern town hall in the sleepy town.
The council chairman received the commendation on Thursday, 20 July, 2023 when she led some journalists, on inspection tour of the newly completed multi-million naira town hall, ahead of its official commissioning on Wednesday, 26 July, 2023.
Among the people who commended Hon Akinlola-Hassan for the giant stride were: the Alabirun Of Ikaare Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba (Dr) Nureni Kayode Akinyemi, chiefs, community leaders, Slsons and daughters of Ikaare and journalists who were invited for media inspection tour of the beautiful town hall.
While answering questions about his impression of the town hall, Oba Akinyemi showered encomium on Hon Akinlola-Hassan for the provision of the town hall by her administration, adding that the council chairman has breathed life into their sleepy community, with the provision of the gigantic town hall.
The traditional ruler stated further that the community, under his watch, will do everything to put the town hall into good use and ensure it is maintained properly.
Hon Akinlola-Hassan while addressing the media, after the inspection tour of the town hall, disclosed that, the town hall was built by her administration for the benefit of people of Ikaare, based on their overwhelming demand for a befitting town hall in their locality.
The council Chairman, who was a member of the Lagos State House Of Assembly, between 2011 and 2015, where she represented Amuwo-Odofin State Constituency II gave glory to God for enabling her to commence construction of the town hall and witness its completion.
She appealed to residents of the town, particularly the youth, to desist from acts of vandalism and theft of government properties in their domain, informing them that the town hall was built with public fund and as such it is their property, noting further that they are expected to protect and maintain it in such a way that unborn generation will benefit from it.
She disclosed that, the magnificent town hall will be named after the incumbent First Lady of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, OON, CON.
