The shape of the new Executive Council for Lagos State is gradually taking shape as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat recently met with nominees for the new cabinet, reports thegazellenews.com.
This medium learnt exclusively that both the Governor and his Deputy held interactive session with many of the nominees between Monday, 17; Tuesday, 18; and Wednesday, 19 July, 2023.
Thegazellenews.com learnt that the nominees personally received phone calls from one of the Governor’s aide inviting them to the meeting.
The meeting took place at the State House in Marina.
Thegazellenews.com learnt further that earlier the leadership of the party had instructed each Local Government chapter of the party to submit three names for consideration for the membership of the state exco.
With three nominees each from the 20 local governments bringing the total to 60 nominees, hence this medium learnt that the interactive session was initiated to serve as a pruning process by the Governor.
According to sources from the interactive session, the nominees were asked on their thinking of the administration’s THEME Agenda and their contributions to the development of the party.
The Governor is also expected to submit their report and observations to the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) when the council meet later this month to draw up the final list of the Commissioners-designate.
