The Nigerian Immigration Service has refuted social media report claiming that some of its operatives who purportedly mounted illegal check points at Badagry Seme border were arrested by policemen of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Special Squad.
The Comptroller Border Patrol at Seme Mr Emmanuel Gbemudu, made this know during an interview with Radio Nigeria.
Comptroller Gbemudu who frowned at the allegation, said that none of his men were arrested, explaining that Border patrol has four points, and therefore the issue of illegal check points does not arise.
On his part, the Comptroller of immigration Service Seme Border Command, Douglas Audu said investigation revealed that no arrests was made as there is synergy between sister security agencies.
All efforts to reach the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP MUYIWA Adejobi to confirm if truly there was any arrest proved abortive
The IGP squad reportedly chased and arrested some police officers and some men of the Immigration Service found at some of the checkpoints, believed to have been created purely to extort during a raid.
