There was excitement at the closed Vacation Football Camp organised by the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) for the coming National Youth Games, on Monday, 14 August, 2023 with the visit of former Super Eagles player, Seyi Olofinjana to the players.
The camp became livened up when the ex-Wolverhampton Wanderers’ midfielder arrived at the camp during their evening training.
Speaking to the players, Olofinjana advised them to keep their heads, remained disciplined and obey camp rules.
He expressed joy and delight at the skills and technical abilities displayed by the players during training urging them not to rest on their oars.
LSFA had opened an open screening for U-15 male and female football players in preparation for the National Youth Games holding later this month in Asaba, Delta State.
Sixty five players were selected for close camping at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, where they train twice daily and engage in life skills and citizenship training, among other activities.
This is also in preparation for a newly established vacation (Boot) Football Camp [VFC].
The essence of the VFC is to get children who wish to play football and take them away from vices, drugs, and other criminal activities
