The Acme road, Ikeja secretariat of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was in rapturous celebration on Wednesday, 6 September, 2023, as the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) affirmed the election of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the President of Nigeria, reports thegazellenews.com
Led by their Chairman in the state, Pastor Cornelius Oyefolu Ojelabi, the members sang songs of joy, danced with happiness as the Justice Haruna Tsamani led five man Tribunal Panel affirmed the election of the former Governor of Lagos State as the duly elected President of the country.
A joyous and elated Ojelabi joined in dance of joy and was seen beaming with smiles.
The party members, from all the local governments in the state led by the APC Chairman in Ikeja Local Government and Chairman of APC LG Chairmen Forum, Alhaji Dally Adedokun had stormed the Acme secretariat as early as 9am to watch the live transmission of the Tribunal ruling and many did not leave until the final ruling was pronounced.
Not even after Pastor Ojelabi had urged the members to go home when it was getting late, many still stayed behind to witness the pronouncement of the final ruling after which they burst into songs, thanking God for granting Tinubu and APC the victory.
Speaking with the media later, Pastor Ojelabi gave glory to God for the victory. “We give glory to God for this victory which I know it’s well deserved,” he said.
According to him, Tinubu was the best candidate and the Nigerian populace realised this and freely gave their mandate to him.
“We’re assuring Nigerians that Asiwaju will not disappoint them. We appreciate their support and we’ll not take it for granted,” Pastor Ojelabi said.
