Former Auditor General for Local Governments in Lagos State, Muhammad Mubashiru Hassan has described the victory of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat at the Election Petition Tribunal as a confirmation of the sanctity of the mandate freely given by the people of the state to the duo in the last elections, reports thegazellenews.com
Hassan stated this on Wednesday, 27 September, 2023 while via a statement congratulating the Governor, his Deputy and the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the victory.
“It’s a well deserved victory and it’s a confirmation of the sanctity of the mandate given to the Governor and his Deputy. The Tribunal ruling was a confirmation of the freely given mandate of the people to our Governor and his Deputy,” Hassan, also a former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Lekki Concession Company (LCC) said.
According to him, the Sanwo-Olu administration has performed remarkably during its first term in office.
“The overwhelming mandate and victory at the polls was thus a clear indication by the people of the state that they identified with the higher level the Governor has transformed the state in his first four years in office,” he said.
Hassan called on the opposition to join hands with the Governor in his desire to take the state further on development and growth.
“I like the humility of the Governor. He has said that there is no victor, no vanquished and he has invited his opponents to come on board. If the opposition truly love Lagos as they have claimed, they should grab this open invitation with both hands,” he said.
