The highly anticipated annual Ramadan lecture series, spearheaded by Honorable Rasaq Ajala (HRA), commenced on Tuesday, 12 March, 2024, with a vibrant session led by the Federation of Muslim Women’s Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN) and the National Council of Muslim Youth Organization (NACOMYO).
The inaugural lecture took place at 2, Imoru Street in Idioro. It featured Alhaja Khadija Shittu as the guest lecturer.
Addressing the audience, Alhaja Shittu explored the theme of “The Role of an Ideal Woman in Nigeria,” captivating attendees with her insightful perspectives and wisdom.
Following the enlightening discourse, the baton was passed to Ustaz Idris Arinola Bolaji Mushin from the National Council of Muslim Youth Organization, Mushin Zone.
Ustaz Bolaji delved into the pressing issue of “Insecurity in the Country: Islamic Solutions,” offering thought-provoking insights and constructive proposals to address the prevalent challenges.
Amidst the intellectual stimulation and spiritual nourishment, attendees were treated to a heartwarming gesture as food was distributed to numerous children who had eagerly gathered since 3:00 pm to partake in the event.
This act of kindness underscored the essence of community spirit and solidarity during the auspicious month of Ramadan.
The commencement of the HRA Annual Ramadan Lecture series with the collaborative efforts of FOMWAN and NACOMYO sets a promising tone for the forthcoming sessions, promising engaging discussions, and meaningful reflections on pertinent issues facing the Muslim community and the nation at large.

In his speech at the event, Hon Ajala thanked all the people that came to witness the first lecture of the Ramadan for the year.
He made a passionate appeal to the people to see governance as a collective responsibility of everyone.
“We all have a role to play as government and the govern to make our country great
“We must not blame only the government for the decadence we are witnessing today
“We must ensure a clean environment and dispose of our refuse properly by patronizing the PSP operators, “he stressed.
On the high cost of food items, Ajala took a jibe at greedy businessmen and women who deliberately hike prices of food items.
“The Shylock businessmen deliberately hike prices of food and other commodities for their selfish interest
“It is important for us to show love among ourselves to make life better for all of us,”he concluded.
Food was served for all the people who attended the event to break their fast.
