The number of deaths including children in the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall in Moscow, the Russian capital, has reached 93.
The Investigative Committee of Russia made this known on Saturday, 23 March, 2024 on its Telegram channel.
Recall that earlier, some gunmen gunmen in camouflage invaded a concert venue complex near Moscow Friday and opened fire on unsuspecting citizens killing at least 60 people and wounding 100 others
According to BBC-verified video, at least four attackers clad in camouflage gear took part in the attack, in the north-west suburb of Krasnogorsk.
The gunmen burst the Crocus City Hall while it was about to host a rock concert with parts of the building engulfed by fire and part of the roof collapsed.
Meanwhile an Islamic State militant group in Iraq and al-Sham, ISIS has claimed responsibility for the heinous mass shooting in the Russian capital.
Claiming responsibility for the attack, ISIS’s Amaq agency said on Telegram that its fighters invaded the concert hall, gunned down scores and injured many before returning to base.
Islamic State said its fighters attacked on the outskirts of Moscow, “killing and wounding hundreds and causing great destruction to the place before they withdrew to their bases safely.”
The statement, however, failed to give further details on the claim.
A viral video footage from the Crocus City Hall, currently circulating on social media, shows the vast complex, which is home to both the music hall and a shopping centre, on fire with smoke billowing into the air.
Russian investigators declared that the death toll from the unfortunate incident was more than 60 while health officials said 145 people were seriously wounded.
About 60 of those hospitalized were in critical condition, according to the Russian health officials.
