From Chuks Collins, Awka
Coming very closely on the heels of his formal reception of thousands of members of other political party members who decamped and moved into the All Progressives Congress (APC) two days ago because of him, Chief Paul Chukwuma on Tuesday afternoon, 9 July, 2024 inaugurated his campaign’s Manifesto Committee.
He also used the well-attended colourful event to formally present a 2024 model of Toyota Hiace luxury bus, together with the documents and the keys to the Youth Leader of the party in the State, amidst tumultuous cheers by bigwigs and supporters of the party in the state.
Few hours earlier, Chief Chukwuma had received thousands of members and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA); the Young Peoples Party (YPP) and those from the Labour Party (LP) into the APC in support of his campaign for the coming 2025 governorship election in Anambra State.
While inaugurating the Manifesto Drafting, Formulating Committee, Chief Chukwuma charged the members to put in their best to formulate a document that will be a contractual bond between him and citizens of Anambra State. That he would abide by every word of the Manifesto, hence want to be held accountable to it.
He told them, “you are here to kickstart the redemption of our dear Anambra from its fast eroding glory.
“I charge you to give the people a document that every citizen can relate to, and read through easily regardless of one’s educational level”.
Chukwuma who is the main contender to the governorship seat in the State under the platform of APC, was a former National Auditor of APC, and widely travelled philanthropist.
He said he don’t need 200-point agenda, but a short, sole and believable points with key enablers that would touch all human endeavours in the state.
He chose security, tackling air pollution and uninterrupted power supply as the three main thrust of his incoming administration.
The 12-member committee, headed by Dr Tony Onyima, with Barrister C.J Chinwuba as Secretary, has 90 days to complete the assignment.
Chief Chukwuma gave them freedom to co-opt more membership in the course of their deliberation, if it becomes necessary.
Thanking him for the confidence reposed in them, Dr Onyima assured they would steadfast, diligent and committed in the task.
