Veteran actress, Bukky Ogunnote, has stated that there is nothing wrong for producers, directors and even marketers to have sex with actresses to get movie roles, reports thegazellenews.com.
The veteran actress however stated that there must be mutual consent between the particular actress and any of the aforementioned personality involved.
“The sexual relationship should be mutual. There should be mutual consent. Neither must be forced or coerced to perform the act,” the veteran actress said.
Ogunnote spoke during an interview posted on the official YouTube channel of Oyinmomo TV, noting that those involve are adults who are old enough to be held responsible for their actions.
She noted that such relationships are not unique to the film industry and occur in various sectors, including banking and education, where co-workers or even lecturers and students may have relationships.
Ogunnote emphasized that the difference is that actors are in the public eye, so their actions are more quickly noticed and scrutinized.
the actress clarified that while no producer has ever asked her for a relationship in exchange for a role, she acknowledged that the practice does ex|st within the industry. She argued that if both the producer and the actress agree to such terms, they are consenting adults and free to make their own decisions without needing to inform others.
According to her, there is no sector in Nigeria where their co-workers don’t date each other, but because, “we are actors and we are always in public glare, people get to know about anything we do so quickly”.
She stated further that, “There is nothing wrong if producers have sex with actresses to give them movie roles so far there’s mutual consent between them”.
