Old students of Methodist Nursery and Primary School, Lagos Island, have revealed their plans to donate uniforms and items to pupils of the school, report thegazellenews.com
The items to be donated include uniforms for all the pupils of the school by Mr. Micheal Olalekan Oladele; a megaphone, donated by Dr Olabode Dada; while Mrs Mercy Mathew Ferreira and Hussein Adeyemi bought chairs and other items for the school.
According to Hussein Adeyemi, a member of the interim executive of the old students, the donations were parts of their plans to give back to the school.
Hussein revealed in an interview with journalists, that they were motivated to embark on the donation based on some of the things they saw on ground, when they visited the school recently.
“We are giving the items to the school on the second week of resumption. We believe that the students and the school deserve the best and we will continue to do our best to restore the lost glory of the school. Other things will still follow next year, when we will be marking our 40th anniversary by His grace.
“We have more things in the offing, our prayer is that God Almighty would keep all of us alive and make it possible for us to do whatever we can do to improve the welfare of the pupils and change the face of the school. We still have toys, children mats and stationery for the pupils,” he said.
The Headmistress of the school, Mrs Sanusi, in her comment, said that the school would continue to give the students the best they can and prepare them for secondary education so that they can achieve their aims in life.
The old students were also received by the Education Secretary of Lagos Island Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Mr Abari, who promised to make the school better with facilities and experienced teachers.
