Four alleged notorious cultists have been gunned downed in a rival cult war by rival cult group in Umuka Nawfia community in Njikoka Local Government Council area of Anambra State.
The rival cult clash which according to eye witness broke out Sunday, 6 October, 2024, which claimed the lives of four cultists.
Eyewitnesses and some villagers said that the victims were known for their nefarious activities and are always in rivalry with one or more cult groups in the area.
The Anambra State Police command spokesperson, SP Ikenga Tockuwu who confirmed said operations were ongoing in the area for the possible arrest of the armed men.
He said police operatives attached to Nimo Police upon arriving at the scene, found four lifeless bodies of young men in pools of blood with suspected multiple gunshot injuries lying on the road.
The police spokesperson noted that the victims were taken to hospital where the doctor on duty confirmed them dead.
Their remains identified as Ebuka Nwaonkwube Ekenta of Mmimi village Nawfia; Nnatuanya Junior aka Starboy also of Mmimi village Nawfia; Aniemena aka Osama of Umuariam Village and one Ahmed Auwal.
