Tragedy occurred on the evening of Wednesday, 30 October, 2024 as 33-year-old wife, named Comfort Olalere Tinubu, allegedly stabbed her 39-year-old husband, Olusegun Tinubu, to death in Gbeyi community in Adegbayi area of Ibadan, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
According to sources, the crisis started as a result of an argument over the wife locking the husband out of the bedroom.
This later resulted in a fight during which the wife allegedly stabbed the husband in the back.
It was gathered that the couple, who got married about three years ago, had two children from the marriage.
It was also learned that the sad development was earlier reported at the Gbagi Police Station.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Iyaganku, Ibadan, according to a source.
The Oyo Police Command Public Relations Officer Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the matter, adding that the case is under investigation.
Osifeso also added that updates would be provided accordingly.
The state police image –maker in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday, 1 November, 2024 said, “The case is under investigation at the Homicide Department of the State Criminal Investigation Department of the Command. Updates will be provided accordingly, please.”
