Mrs. Aminat Dupe Ibrahim, wife of former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and ex-Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Admiral Ola Sa’ad Ibrahim has passed away.
She died in Abuja on Tuesday night, 5 November, 2024, after a brief illness.
Admiral Ibrahim, who served as Chief of Naval Staff from 2010 to 2012 and as Chief of Defence Staff from 2012 to 2014, is now grieving the loss of his wife. Aminat’s funeral took place on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, in accordance with Islamic rites.
Family sources have confirmed the death revealing that the deceased was surrounded by her loved ones in her final moments.
She is survived by her husband, children, and grandchildren. She has been buried today, according to Islamic rites. The Janazah (funeral) prayers held at the National Mosque, Abuja, followed by internment at Gudu Muslim Cemetery in Apo, Abuja.
Leading figures in the country have been sending condolences to the ex Naval Chief and his family.
Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State (where he hails from) describes the incident as shocking and saddening.
“Although death is a constant reminder of the transience of our existence as human beings. We submit to the will of Allaah at all times. We ask Allaah, the Eternal, to grant Hajia Aminat Dupe Ibrahim al-jannah Firdaus and uphold her family upon goodness,” the Governor says.
