It was an atmosphere of fun and glamour on Sunday, 8 December, 2024 as the royal families of Omotorisha and Fasinro Suenu converged for their Second Réunion.
The Reunion is aimed at fostering stronger ties as well as charting a new way forward for the two families.
The Second Réunion, which attracted a large turnout of family members from both sides, took place at the Chief Suenu Palace on Idumoyinbo Street, off Adeniji-Adele street in Isale Eko area of Lagos State.
Speaking at the well attended meeting, the Convener of the Forum and Onisabe of Igbobi-Sabe, His Royal Majesty Owolabi Adeniyi, said that it became imperative for the families of Omotorisha and Fasinro Suenu to put behind them the long years of misunderstanding and see each other as one indivisible entity.
Oba Adeniyi, who said the Reunion was aimed at ensuring that both young and old from both families have a clear knowledge of their history and preserve it jealously for the upcoming generations, maintained that the gains of the Reunion have been enormous.
In his welcome address at the august gathering, Mr Jimoh Wahab Suenu, said that the coming together of the two families had brought strong love and prosperity to all.
In the speech read by Mr. Isa Suenu, Jimoh Wahab Suenu disclosed that the Reunion shall be permanent as the cord that links them together was that of Olorifayemi.
According to him, the Reunion was a product of relentless efforts by Onisabe of Igbobi-Sabe Kingdom, Oba Owolabi Adeniyi when he stumbled on the history linking the two families.
The first edition of the Reunion of both families was held in Otto area of the state in December 2023.
