A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Iyaganku, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, has ordered the remand of Naomi Silekunola, a former wife of the Ooni of Ile Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi; the principal of Islamic High School, Bashorun Ibadan, Mr. Abdullahi Fasasi; and the proprietor of Agidigbo FM, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, at Agodi Correctional Center.
The court, presided over by Chief Magistrate Olabisi Ogunkanmi, gave the order on Tuesday, 24 December, 2024.
The gazellenews.com recalls that the trio was arrested in connection with the recent stampede that occurred at the school.
It was gathered that the trio was brought to court amidst heavy security on Tuesday, 24 December, 2024 by men of the Oyo State Police Command.
The premises of the court, it was gathered were filled with relatives of the defendants and other interested parties.
The defendants were charged with four counts.
The police prosecutor argued that the offence committed by the defendants was contrary to Section 324 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 38, Vol. II, Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000.
Ogunkanmi ordered that the suspects be kept at Agodi Correctional Center pending advice from the state prosecutor.
