The Zambian High Commissioner to South Africa, Mazuba Monze has been sacked.
The top diplomat was allegedly sacked for making what many believed to be a bizarre request to one her staff in the High Commission.
According to a report, Ms Monze allegedly requested a male staff of the High Commission to help shave off hair from her private part.
The staff allegedly refused, stating that it was not part of his duties to shave Ambassadors, especially their private parts.
The High Commissioner termed this act as disobedience and an act of insubordination and proceeded to fire the staff.
The matter went quiet for a while until the staff appealed against the decision and brought the matter to the attention of the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
When the allegation about the strange request by Ms Monze was verified, President Hakainde Hichilema promptly fired the High Commissioner.
