The Nigerian Police Force has cried out over how some Nigerians, especially those in the business community are aiding kidnappers and bandits to sustain their activities, The Gazelle News.com can report.
According to the content of a press statement signed and released by the Force Police Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, investigations have revealed that some Nigerians are sustaining activities of bandits, kidnappers and terrorists by doing business with them.
The police, The Gazelle News.com learnt, was not happy with the development and have called on those doing that to desist from such action.
According to Mba, those involved in the nefarious acts supply these criminals with essential goods, both legal and illegal drugs as well as rendering some essential services to them, The Gazelle News.com can report.
“Unfortunately, investigation also reveals that some citizens, especially those within the business community, give tacit support to the terror groups by deliberately doing businesses with them through the supply of essential goods, drugs (licit/illicit) and other services,” Mba said.
The Police implored Nigerians to cooperate and support the Force in fighting crimes in the society noting that it is the only way war against crimes particularly violent crimes such as kidnapping, armed robbery and banditry can be curtailed.
