The Nigeria Olympic Committee, NOC, has implored sports administrators to work with their state Ministries of Education in order to discover and develop young potential athletes who can represent Nigeria in any international competition.
NOC President, Habu Gumel, who was represented by the President of Nigeria Badminton Federation, Francis Orbih, made this remark at the opening ceremony of the NOC/Olympic Solidarity Advanced Sports Management.
Gumel, who explained that the course is designed for participants at the Executive level of NOC,National Federations, said the course was to equip the sports Administrators with the knowledge and tools to help them to bring about change and improvement in their sports organisations.
While stressing that the course will go a long way in identifying managerial skills that could be enhanced, Gumel, the continuous support of IOC/Olympic Solidarity had continue to bring position e changes to the nation’s sports Administrators, adding that Nigeria’s sports Administrators must gearn themselves to a better adaption of the directive of the Olympic Solidarity on sports administration.
He said the IOC through the Olympic Solidarity was committed to promoting the harmony of sport and education globally.
