The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in has continued to rise steadily in Osun State.
As at 12.30pm on Wednesday, 1 April, 2020, the number in Osun has risen to 14 after nine new cases were confirmed.
On Tuesday, 31 March, 2020, three new cases were confirmed and The Gazelle News.com can report that there are indications that the Osun Coronavirus tally will continue to rise and may even surpassed 100.
The Gazelle News.com reports that the Osun case was heightened by the recent arrival of 127 of its indigenes from Cote d’Ivoire.
According to our investigation, 17 buses brought from Abidjan 127 indigenes of Osun State to Nigeria.
They first landed at the border of Ogun State and on learning that they were indigenes of Osun State, the Ogun authority contacted its Osun counterpart.
The Osun State Government through its workaholic Commissioner for Health, Dr Rafiu Isamotu, ensured that all the 127 returnees were escorted to a school in Ejigbo where they were all quarantined and the process of testing them commenced.
On Tuesday, 31 March, 2020, 27 of them were tested with 3 being positive. On Wednesday, 1 April, 2020, more were tested, with nine being positive.
It is obvious that the number will continue to rise until they are all tested and they are still in isolation.
The Gazelle News.com can also report that all the 127 returnees are indigenes of Ejigbo in Ejigbo Local Government Area of the State and they are all being quarantined in the town.
