The Ifako Ijaiye chapter of the COVID-19 National Volunteer Group has called on the leadership of both Ifako Ijaiye LG and Ojokoro Local Council Development Area to impose a twelve hour curfew on the local government.
A press statement by the group signed by Olayinka Oresile and Comrade Ajayi Taiwo, Coordinator and Secretary respectively of the group, the organisation said the curfew became imperative over the activities of hoodlums who have been terrorising residents of the area for the past one week.
“We are calling on the Legislative and Executive arms of the councils to impose the curfew to curb the activities of these hoodlums.
“It should be a twelve hour curfew running from 10pm to 10am daily,” the group said.
According to the statement, the curfew should last till the period the lockdown is over while security agents should be on 24-hour patrol of the area.
