Prophet Alfa Babatunde, founder of Sotitobire Miracle Centre, Akure, Ondo State, has been sentenced to life imprisonment over his involvement in the disappearance of Gold Kolawole, a toddler, in his church.
Prophet Babatunde was jailed on Tuesday, 6 October, 2020 by Justice Olusegun Odusola of the Ondo State High Court, Akure.
The sentence, handed down on Tuesday, also affected five other members of the church.
The others jailed were: Omodara Olayinka, Margaret Oyebola, Grace Ogunjobi, Egunjobi Motunrayo and Esther Kayode.
They were found guilty on a two-count charge bordering on kidnapping and aiding and abetting to kidnap.
The Judge, Justice Olusegun Odusola, said the prosecution proved circumstantial evidence against the accused persons.
Gold was taken to the church by his parents, where the one-year-old went missing.
