To commemorate the commencement of the new legal Year 2020/2021 of the Osun Judiciary, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Tuesday, commissioned newly-constructed court rooms at the premises of the High Court, Oke-Fia, Osogbo.
Speaking during the commissioning, Oyetola said the court rooms would further enable judicial officers in the State to perform their roles better as the last hope of the common man.
Governor Oyetola who appreciated the Chief Judge of the State, Hon. Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo, and all the members of the State Judiciary for their great work said “you all have been very dependable partners without compromising the ethics of your calling.”
He also urged members of the Judiciary to remain courageous, fearless and forthright in the discharge of their roles. The governor assured them that “as an Administration, we will continually prioritise your welfare and provide the requisite infrastructure to create the right ambiance for you to diligently discharge your duties to our society”.
Earlier, Governor Oyetola attended the thanksgiving services held at the Central Mosque, Oja Oba and the Cathedral Church of All Saints, Balogun Agoro, both in Osogbo, as part of the line-up of events to mark the new legal year.
At the services, the Governor charged everyone to be thankful at all times in spite of whatever challenges they might be faced with.
Also, he commended the Judiciary for conducting itself creditably during the previous legal year and enjoined its members to further rededicate themselves to a life of genuine service to humanity in the discharge of their duties.
He said, “As you know, the society reposes enormous trust in you on account of your sacred duties as servants in the Temple of Justice. I therefore charge you to continually discharge this role well. You must ensure that you remain courageous in your quest for a society that is based on truth, equity, fairness and justice.”
