A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Mutiu Are has described the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as one of the best qualified persons to replace Muhammadu Buhari as president of Nigeria when he completed his term in 2023, reports The Gazelle News.com.
Alhaji Are who spoke exclusively with this medium in Lagos, described Tinubu as a man with the midas touch. “Everything he touches turns to gold and he is a very experienced human and capital manager,” he said.
According to him, the former Lagos State Governor has proved time and time again that he is an astute administrator who has the ability to get the best out of everything for the general benefit of the people.
“His administration in Lagos is still one of the best in the state. Look at the way he raised the Internally Generated Revenue of the state.
“His protégé are still some of the best administrators in Nigeria today. The novel way he handled the illegal seizure of allocations belonging to local governments in Lagos State by the Obasanjo administration was an excellent model of prudent financial management,” he said.
Are, a member of the influential Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), said Tinubu has all the qualities needed to lead Nigeria and is ready to pitch his tent with him if he declares his intention to run for the highest office in the country.
