The President and Founder of International Service Group and Partners (ISG&P), Mr. Steve Tuinstra has disclosed that Power is the main problem facing Africa’s development.
Tuinstra who spoke from his office with thegazellenews.com in Lome Togo said, Africa should move away from only hydro as the only source of power. He said the whole world is moving to alternative source to power generation.
Tuinstra explained that he has lived in almost all the continent of the World before settling in Africa. “I have lived in South Africa and I am presently in Togo, what I have discovered is that, the people are very industrious but the poor electricity situation is a great limitation.
Tuinstra said corruption is everywhere in the World but the government and the people should think towards generating more grid that will promote economic development. He expressed displeasure on the rate at which Africa still suffer inspite the enormous natural resources on the continent. “As we speak, our research revealed that 60% of Africans are still living without electricity. This is a very sad situation”. He laments.
To address this challenge he said ISG&P is determined to embark on ‘Off Grid’ as an alternative source of power. We are ready to partner both government and individual entrepreneur to enhance power generation.
He said solar energy is cheap and highly affordable for everyone to take advantage. He promised that his organisation will focus more on the off grid from 2024 and encourage visible development in Africa.
